Job Description
Join BAE Systems Intelligence & Security sector (I&S) as a Director of Business Development for the Air and Space Force Solutions (ASFS) business area. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Business Winning, you will partner with the business area team to drive the organization's strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customes' most important needs and laying the foundation for winning strategies. With responsibility of business development serving a dynamic and diverse market space and customer set, the selected individual will be held accountable for identification, qualification, and support of capture for Department of the Air Force business development opportunities as well as the generation of qualified pipeline growth necessary to meet or exceed the business unit's forecast and plan. You will be responsibile for developing a holistic and cohesive USAF business development strategy and pipeline. Additionally, you will plan and recommend BD and marketing strategies to achieve maximum customer and market penetration and to drive tactical and strategic growth. The position is located in McLean, Virginia but requires frequent travel to Company and/or customer locations.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Grow Air & Space Force domestic opportunity pipeline with focus on PEO C3BM leveraging existing and adjacent markets/customers through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter-company collaboration.
Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities within PEO C3BM.
Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits and develop marketing strategies.
Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to the Air and Space Force requirements.
Support creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies.
Manage tech marketing discretionary funds planning and execution.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelors degree in a technical or business-related discipline
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant BD experiences
  • Demonstrated success in leading and winning new domestic and international business
  • Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior-level officials and program stakeholders within US and international defense markets
  • Experience and customer relationships with PEO C3BM
  • Significant technical acumen in CJADC2 and ABMS architectures, software development, and infrastructure modernization
  • Experience shaping opportunity captures including developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies; and assisting in or leading other aspects of captures
  • Demonstrated background in solution selling, developing new markets, with proven leadership from inception to fruition of a strategic campaign
  • Expereince in directing and supporting new business development opportunities to improve the company's business portfolio to include marketing and customer call plans
  • Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth
  • Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
  • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market
  • Experience in budget management of technical marketing, B&P and IRAD dollars
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
  • Proven experience leading large geographically diverse teams; strong coaching and mentoring skills; and ability to achieve results through others


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with or credible knowledge of international business development to include Foreign Military Sales and Direct Commercial Sales with an understanding of policies governing these opportunities
  • Experience in radar development and support and range instrumentation support
  • MBA or similar Masters including advanced military education
  • Preferred base location is McLean, Virginia

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
