Department Summary
The Operations Finance team provides financial planning and reporting services to PG&E, responsible for providing direction and coordination in respect to strategic functional area planning processes, financial planning, forecasting, analytics, and reporting.
The Enterprise Planning and Performance function, part of the Operations Finance team, leads the orchestration and delivery of PG&E's multi-year planning process, the Value Delivery of over $1B+ in operational efficiencies through seamless integration of process enhancements and change management, and support of Enterprise Strategic Initiatives.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Expert Program Manager to drive complex cross-functional projects to support Enterprise Performance priorities like Value Delivery, planning, governance, and operational improvements. You will oversee project plans, milestones, risks, and resource allocation for effective execution and timely delivery, collaborating with various internal stakeholders to align objectives and track progress.
Your major responsibilities include, but not limited to coordinating stakeholder groups, governance, and decision-making processes; analyzing data and financial models to inform decisions and monitor benefits; and maintaining metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools for risk management and improvement.
The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office once a week. However, this can scale up based on business needs or company requirements.
Job Responsibilities
  • Leads complex and midsize cross-functional projects and workstreams that support Enterprise Performance priorities, including Value Delivery, planning, governance, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and manages integrated project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and resource needs to ensure disciplined execution and timely delivery of assigned initiatives.
  • Coordinates cross-functional stakeholders, governance forums, and decision-making processes to maintain alignment, remove blockers, and ensure accountability for project outcomes.
  • Partners with Functional Area leaders, Finance, and Business Plan Deployment stakeholders to align project objectives, validate assumptions, and track progress against delivery milestones and value realization targets.
  • Communicates project status, key decisions, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership through clear verbal updates, dashboards, and executive-ready materials.
  • Analyzes complex data, reports, and financial or operational models to identify trends, inform decisions, and support benefit tracking.
  • Develops and maintains project metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track progress, surface risks, and support continuous improvement.
  • Represents Enterprise Performance in meetings, reviews, and leadership readouts related to assigned projects and workstreams.
  • Communicates complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media.
  • Create new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions.
  • Develop new or revises existing scope of work to ensure compliance standards and deliverables are established.
  • Helps develop, drive, and execute on overall program direction.

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in business, finance, engineering, operations, analytics, or a related field
  • 8 years of experience in project or program management, operations, finance, analytics, or related field, including leading complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications in a complex matrixed environment.
  • Experience developing executive-ready materials, dashboards, and reporting tools, and using data-driven analysis to support delivery and performance tracking.
  • Delivers results in complex, cross-functional environments with competing priorities, multiple stakeholders, and evolving business needs.
  • Build credibility and collaborates effectively with stakeholders across functions and levels to support alignment, decisions, and execution.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in both written and verbal settings, including with leaders, partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Applies sound business judgment and strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities, solve problems, and move work forward.
  • Understands planning, cost, and reporting processes, and the systems and tools used to support enterprise performance and decision-making.

Compensation
PG&E provides the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
  • Bay Area Minimum: $ 129,000.00
  • Bay Area Midpoint: $ 168,000.00
  • Bay Area Maximum: $207,000.00
