Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all program, eligibility, enrollment, and service delivery activities comply with applicable regulations, policies, and funding requirements. This role conducts timely follow-up activities, monitors outreach, enrollment, and engagement efforts, and ensures accurate and timely internal and external reporting of program data. The Program Coordinator identifies and communicates program successes, risks, and areas for improvement to leadership while working collaboratively with staff, managing program resources and budgets, and implementing procedures that support program effectiveness and sustainability.


In addition, the Program Coordinator supports the healthy development and well-being of young children and their families through culturally responsive, equity-centered programming. The position coordinates family-focused services, resources, and activities designed to strengthen caregiver capacity, promote positive early childhood development, and address social determinants of health. Through strategic coordination, community engagement, and program oversight, the Program Coordinator plays a key role in advancing whole-family wellness and improving outcomes for children ages 0–5 and their families.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support planning, implementation, and coordination of the program and its activities.
  • Support the manager in evaluating program effectiveness, assessing service levels, and program progress to prepare appropriate recommendations to the director.
  • Support growth and program development.
  • Contribute to program innovation and strategy development.
  • Ensure consistent and complete documentation of program services and activities.
  • Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping of all program activities.
  • Report data collection problems to the program administrator and director in a timely manner.
  • Assist in tracking all program/contract deliverables and ensure they are carried out in a timely and effective manner.
  • Support maintaining program-related partnerships with community-based and neighborhood organizations.
  • Support in identifying location sites in the 40x40—where program activities and benefit enrollments can safely and conveniently be located to maximize the team’s activities.
  • Keep internal staff, navigation, and program specialists up-to-date on program offerings, requirements, and linkage points; identify and troubleshoot gaps in communication or the continuum of care.
  • Oversee patient recruitment, enrollment, and outreach efforts to maximize participation in programs.
  • Support weekly outreach/benefit enrollment team meetings.
  • Support coordination of community outreach activities and events.
  • Support and perform outreach activities in the community via tabling opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities of the navigation, outreach, and patient services staff.
  • Coordinate with outreach and benefit enrollment staff to perform and administer activities.
  • Coordinate program communications internally and externally.
  • Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events.
  • Support the development and execution of outreach/in-reach strategies and activities.
  • Support the development and execution of communications strategies and activities.
  • Treat clients in a respectful manner.
  • Participate in and attend department meetings, agency meetings, and staff training as required.
  • Support planning, implementation, and coordination of Medi-Cal and non-Medi-Cal programs and activities.
  • Must be able to work on-site full time.

Competencies:

  • A bachelor's degree in public health, business administration, public administration, social work, or a related field.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a nonprofit organization or a community clinic is preferred.
  • Experience with benefits enrollment/familiarity with Medi-Cal.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work on-site and/or in the community full-time.
  • Valid California driver license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups, both professional and non-professional, co-workers, management personnel, the public, and others.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Clear and effective external and internal, verbal and written, communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinker and problem solver who can successfully build and lead an execution strategy from a long-term vision.
  • Passion and knowledge of skill-based workforce development programming and social enterprises.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
