Job description

Come a long side a Women of Valor in Training client, to meet with them weekly to discuss goals. A mentor is an active listener, approaches challenges with curiosity to support them in meeting their program goals. The mentor also communicates any concerns with the Program Coordinator and works with the client's advocates to align goals and support the client in moving through the program. A Mentor will also represent WOVIT and create a culture of unity, and emotional safety.

WOVIT is a faith based program, but clients come from diverse denominational backgrounds and their beliefs may differentiate and mentor's are expected to respect the client's beliefs, meeting them where they are. Someone who would fit this role has a background in serving the marginalized through therapeutic services, social work, pastoral care, or humanitarian roles.

Mentors approach client's with empathy, meeting them where they are, at the intersection of curiosity and compassion. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to walk along side a woman as they transition from surviving to thriving, can commit to the entire year of their program, who is teachable and able to work as a team to ensure we set the client up for success in successfully completing the program.

Volunteers will meet weekly with the client who is completing WOVIT program, which includes therapy services, life skills training, financial education, career development, and cognitive behavioral and emotional intelligence training.
