PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Career Pathways and College Partnership Coordinator supports a wide variety of teacher recruitment projects, initiatives and activities that focus on recruiting high quality teachers and developing pre-service teacher pipelines for RPS. This role plays an integral role in supporting daily operations, key deliverables, initiatives and strategies for the Executive Director of Talent Acquisition.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position. 

  1. Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  2. Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  3. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  4. Attends College and University career fairs to recruit and hire teachers, administrators, and other personnel.
  5. Develop and foster relationships with colleges and universities to grow and enhance clinical and student teaching placements in the district.
  6. Coordinates all clinical and student teaching placements in the district.
  7. Coordinates programs and duties related to student teaching including but not limited to student teacher housing, student teacher stipends, and laptop distribution and retrieval.
  8. Sources and recruits certified staff to serve in cooperating teacher roles for clinical and student teaching candidates.
  9. Coordinates and facilitates all recruitment activities (marketing, candidates sourcing, application management, interviewing, etc) for Rockford Public Schools "Grow Your Own" initiatives including but not limited to Rockford University Education Pathway, LEAP program, and Aspiring Teacher Teachers program.
  10. Coordinates the NIU Tuition Waiver application and selection process.
  11. Maintains all pertinent applicant and interview data in the HRIS system.
  12. Coordinates, develops, and implements special tasks and projects as assigned.
  13. Maintains security of confidential information.
  14. Carries out such additional duties as required or as conditions necessitate.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may substitute for a degree on a year-to-year basis. Education recruitment is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  1. Superior collaboration skills and professionalism; dedication to team goals and success, including the ability to effectively partner with team members to achieve priority goals and a willingness and commitment to support other team members' initiatives as needed.
  2. Experience working in diverse communities.
  3. Active support of team leadership and department processes and initiatives.
  4. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, and detail orientation.
  5. Strong, business communication skills: including speaking, actively listening, and writing.
  6. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and internet-based portals.
  7. Experience and proficiency with applicant tracking systems required; Frontline/ AppliTrack experience preferred.
  8. Ability to be self-motivated.
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, manage diverse business initiatives, to quickly adapt to evolving priorities.
  10. Ability to foster positive working relationships with all staff, guests, partners, and stakeholders, and to coordinate with teams across multiple departments.
