Job description

Do you love working with older adults and adults with disabilities? Looking for something low commitment and super rewarding. Join our team at our beautiful, state of the art Adult Day Health program in Mashpee, MA.
We have an exciting Per Diem (up to 21 hour per week)opportunity for a Dietary Aide (DA). The position shall assist the Program Coordinator and our Part Time DA with the day-to-day food services while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The rate is $20 per hour. The exact schedule is TBD but always between 8 am & 12 pm Monday - Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor temperature of foods to assure safe serving practices of hot and cold foods, and document in food log prior to serving.
  • Check and document refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily. Calibrate the thermometer used to check food temperatures weekly.
  • Wash tables before and after meals.
  • Prepare sandwiches for clients who desire an alternative to the day's meal or for field trips.
  • Clean after food service, including loading dishwasher, washing pans and other serving utensils, putting all dishes and pans away, washing all kitchen surfaces to maintain cleanliness guidelines, and cleaning kitchen and activity floors.
  • Routine and as needed cleaning:
    • Weekly cleaning of interior of stove and refrigerator.
    • Monthly washing and dusting appliances
  • Report any damage of kitchen items or appliances to Program Coordinator immediately.
  • Maintain list of foods, paper products and ER supply stock needed to be purchased and give to Program Coordinator as directed.
  • Ability to provide services outlined in this job description.
  • Respond to the reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisors.

Education and Experience:
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications - covered by the agency.
  • Experience working with the elderly or disabled preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
