Position Overview


Role:After School Program Coordinator
Location:Champaign, IL
Reports to:Program Director / Principal
Type:Part-time, afternoons (school year)


We seek a collaborative, organized, and compassionate leader to coordinate and oversee after-school programming for neurodiverse learners. The ideal candidate will have experience with structured instructional approaches, strong data-tracking skills, and a passion for supporting both academic and social development in diverse learners.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee day-to-day operations of after-school programming for PreK8 Academic Program and Clinical ABA Program


  • Implement structured, data-driven instruction aligned with Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, and ABA methodologies


  • Monitor and document student progress; maintain and utilize data dashboards to inform instructional decisions


  • Supervise and schedule program staff (tutors, therapy aides, and volunteers); provide coaching and feedback


  • Coordinate with occupational therapy and ABA staff to align goals and integrate therapeutic activities


  • Plan and lead enrichment, social-emotional learning, and age-appropriate activities for ages 313


  • Ensure safety, behavior management, and an inclusive, welcoming environment; enforce policies and respond to incidents


  • Communicate with families about student progress, schedules, and program events; manage attendance and enrollment records


  • Manage program logistics (materials, space setup, snack, equipment) and assist with transportation coordination as needed


  • Participate in ongoing program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives


Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (masters degree preferred)


  • Experience working with neurodiverse learners; familiarity with ABA, Direct Instruction, and Precision Teaching is a plus


  • Strong organizational and data-management skills; experience with progress monitoring and data dashboards preferred


  • Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities


  • Ability to supervise staff, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment


  • Commitment to safety, inclusivity, and creating a nurturing learning environment


  • Spanish or other language skills are a plus, but not required


Schedule & Location


  • Afternoon hours during the school year (typical window: 2:306:00 PM, MondayFriday; some flexibility for occasional events)


  • On-site at ExcelPrep School, Champaign, IL
