JOB SUMMARY
Coordinates operations of the SCCC Breast Cancer Program. The role will provide operational and administrative support on day-to-day activities and the planning, development, and implementation of standards that will contribute to the short-term and long-term objectives of the program by partnering within the Cancer Center's Patient Care, Clinical Research and Administrative teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operational and administrative responsibilities will include but are not limited to planning, implementation, development and implementation of processes, coordination of program activities, and determination of resource needs.

2. Coordination of scientific meetings/conferences/retreats from conception, planning of the event, to the day of the event.

3. Work with internal and external key partners, leaders in the organization, representatives from external agencies/organizations in the management of the program to provide guidance, resolve issues, grow the program, and/or implement processes and/or solutions. Identify and define any logistics, action items, changes, or information needed to effectively manage the program.

4. Administratively coordinate the submission of large program project grants (e.g., P50's, SPOREs, MPI grants, training grants, etc.) in partnership with the SCCC Grants Team or relevant department(s) under direction of disease-oriented team and scientific leaders of the program.

5. Assesses communication needs and coordinates with relevant stakeholders, including trans-institutional partners and pharma/biotech.

6. In conjunction with leadership, plan, monitor, and manage program fiscal budgets and financials.

JOB DUTIES

Directs, analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates program operation and procedures.

Develops and/or oversees development of budget for program.

Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from program.

Establishes program goals and objectives and directs program evaluation and quality control activities; develops and/or approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.

Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities.

Plans and coordinates special events. Participates in conferences. Presents data and program information.

Responsible for design, execution, and effectiveness of system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial information is reliable.

Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Coordinates training and development of staff as necessary.

Reads literature and attends functions to keep abreast of relevant scientific and technical developments related to program.

Serves on committees as representative of assigned program as appropriate.

May provide supervision to staff members.

Performs other duties as assigned.
