Our Associate Therapist Training Program is designed for early-career clinicians who want hands-on experience working with adolescents navigating acute mental health challenges. You’ll gain exposure to both residential and outpatient settings while building confidence in your clinical voice and skillset.

In this role, you’ll support residential programs programs by completing biopsychosocial assessments, stepping into the role of Primary Therapist for assigned clients, and providing coverage as needed. As a Primary Therapist, you’ll lead DBT skills groups, facilitate individual and family therapy, and complete clinical documentation within required timelines.

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, motivated, and ready to learn—someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while staying grounded and client-centered. You’ll receive consistent clinical supervision, along with ongoing training and shadowing opportunities to support your growth.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and family therapy for teens and their families
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments (with support and independently over time)
  • Collaborate with the clinical team during weekly treatment meetings
  • Participate in weekly training track supervision to deepen your understanding of acute care
  • Partner with Residential Counselors to reinforce effective behavioral interventions
  • Co-facilitate—and eventually lead—DBT skills groups
  • Complete treatment plans, weekly reviews, and all required clinical documentation
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
  • Active California BBS associate number (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC)
  • California DL and willingness to travel between Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills, and Calabasas locations
Schedule and Compensation
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (full-time, onsite)
  • Pay: $33–34/hour


Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescents? At Evolve Treatment Centers, we offer a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with compassionate care in a supportive, team-based environment.
The Associate Therapist training program provides a unique opportunity for clinicians to gain experience working with teens facing acute mental health issues, as well as understanding residential and intensive outpatient settings. The Associate Therapist will provide clinical support to the residential and outpatient programs by completing Biopsychosocial Assessments, acting as a Primary Therapist to clients as assigned, and providing Primary Therapist coverage as assigned. Primary Therapist duties include, but are not limited to, running DBT Skills Training groups, providing individual and family therapy, and completing all clinical documentation within the required timelines. This individual should be eager to learn and comfortable with a fast-paced environment. Clinical supervision will be provided, as well as several other training and shadowing opportunities. 

Job Duties:

  • Provide individual and family therapy to teens and their families
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments upon admission both with assistance from Primary Therapists and independently
  • Attend weekly clinical treatment teams and collaborate with clinicians to carry out individualized treatment plans
  • Attend weekly Training Track supervisions with peers to learn and understand acute care services
  • Participate in individual supervision when directly assigned cases
  • Provide case management support and coordinate with After-Care manager to ensure clients have appropriate discharge plans
  • Coach and collaborate with Residential Counselors to ensure effective behavioral interventions are carried-out with clients
  • Participate in, and eventually lead, DBT skills groups 
  • Complete weekly treatment plan reviews, master treatment plans, other required clinical documentation
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in clinical psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
  • Active BBS associate number (AMFT/ACSW/APCC
  • 1-year minimum training commitment requested
  • Must be willing to go to all our locations in Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills, Calabasas.

Hours: Monday-Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm. This is a full-time, onsite position. 
Payrate: $33-34/hour
