Program Support AssistantPosition SummaryEuola is seeking a highly organized and professional Program Support Assistant to provide administrative support to multiple research units at the USDA Agricultural Research Service's Center for Grain and Animal Health Research (CGAHR) in Manhattan, Kansas. This position supports scientific and administrative staff by ensuring daily office operations run efficiently while maintaining compliance with federal administrative procedures.This is an onsite position supporting the following USDA research units:Arthropod-Borne Animal Diseases Research Unit (ABADRU)Hard Winter Wheat Genetics Research Unit (HWWGRU)Grain Quality & Structure Research Unit (GQSRU)Stored Product Insect & Engineering Research Unit (SPIERU)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will provide administrative and office support including:Answer telephones and greet visitorsManage calendars and schedule appointmentsCoordinate meetings and conference roomsPrepare correspondence, reports, memoranda, invoices, and other documentsDraft, edit, and proofread communicationsMaintain electronic and paper filing systemsProcess incoming and outgoing mailAssist with bookkeeping and account trackingMaintain office records and documentationSupport multiple managers and scientific staff with day-to-day administrative functionsPerform other administrative duties as assigned in support of USDA operations.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred)Minimum 2–3 years of administrative or executive support experienceExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritize multiple assignments independentlyExperience maintaining confidential informationStrong attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including:OutlookWordExcelPowerPointTeamsBasic accounting, bookkeeping, or invoice processing experienceAbility to quickly learn new computer systems and software.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting Federal Government officesExperience working in scientific, laboratory, university, or research environmentsKnowledge of federal administrative proceduresSecurity RequirementsApplicants must:Be a U.S. CitizenSuccessfully obtain and maintain a USDA Public Trust background investigationMeet all USDA personnel security requirements prior to beginning work.Work Environment100% onsiteStandard office environmentGovernment-furnished workstation and equipmentNo travel required.Desired SkillsSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:Excellent organizational abilitiesIndependent decision-makingProfessional written communicationStrong customer service skillsAttention to detailReliability and dependabilityAbility to manage competing prioritiesCollaborative teamworkProfessionalism in a Federal work environment.
