Program Assistant Substitute
Status: Part-Time
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Hours: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Wednesdays 1:00pm -4:00pm
Pay Rate: $20.24/hour

JOB SUMMARY:
This is a substitute position. The Sub can be assigned to various sites across a school district, depending on daily needs arising from staff callouts. While there is not a guaranteed daily shift or location, the Sub must be ready to travel and cover assignments at different locations, as required. It is the responsibility of the Sub to respond and commit to covering open shifts as they become available in a timely manner.
Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Site Supervisor or designee, support Community Provider Enrichment activities at elementary or intermediate expanded learning program sites. Instructional Assistant Providers must develop rapport to encourage and motivate students to participate in Community Provider Enrichment activities. Employees assume responsibility for a variety of duties assigned in conjunction with the Expanded Learning program requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Work with and support TK-8th grade students in small and large groups during Community Provider Enrichment rotations.
โ€ข Check in students, take attendance, and follow student dismissal procedures.
โ€ข Implement effective classroom management, discipline and instructional strategies.
โ€ข Monitor and evaluate the program and student's progress.
โ€ข Maintain the classroom or learning facility in a clean, organized and healthful manner; storage of materials is required on a daily basis.
โ€ข Supervise students in and out of classroom during various after-school activities.
โ€ข Maintain frequent and regular parent communication and support parent involvement.
โ€ข Attend staff meetings/planning/training sessions on a regular basis or as required.
โ€ข Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข A minimum of 48 Semester/60 Quarter College Units or pass NCLB test.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).
โ€ข Provide a clear TB test.
โ€ข Reliable transportation is required to meet the needs of the position.
โ€ข While driving is not a regular requirement of this role, employees who operate a personal or company vehicle for work purposes must maintain a valid driver's license and current auto insurance on file with HR.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

โ€ข Must be willing to travel to other sites to cover staff callouts.
