Mantles Restaurant and Lounge are looking to hire Host & Food Runners for the upcoming Winter season. The Host & Food Runners are available for all meal periods and work closely with the serving and bartending team to ensure exceptional guest service. They handle various tasks such as greeting guests, delivering food, clearing tables, and taking take-out or in-room dining orders. During breakfast, they also assist as servers for our buffet. The ideal candidate for this role is a skilled communicator and multitasker passionate about providing excellent service. They prioritize Health & Safety and thrive in the mountain environment. Compensation Information: $19.35 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium; Work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; predominately in an indoor setting.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full Winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Restaurant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of table reservation software (OpenTable/TouchBistro).
  • Serving it Right Certification (if applicable).
  • Micros Simphony POS System experience.
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including availability on weekends.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work as a team and demonstrate initiative.
  • Food and Wine knowledge an asset.
  • Dedicated to working within a dynamic team that focuses on collaboration and guest experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the restaurant team by running food and drinks to tables, bussing and resetting tables, and helping to greet and seat guests as required.
  • Work alongside the serving team to ensure a successful buffet service.
  • Answer the telephone professionally to respond to guest enquiries, take food orders either for collection or delivery in-house, and make table reservations.
  • Be responsible for the In-Room-Dining service when scheduled, ensuring food and drink are delivered to guest rooms, guests are billed, and quality checked in due time.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experience by following the standards of service.
  • Use the POS system to send guest orders to the kitchen and bar and to bill guests.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, tidy and well-presented restaurant on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Prompt and accurate cashing out at the end of service.
  • Ensures operational Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Acts as an ambassador for Sun Peaks Resort & Sun Peaks Grand Hotel.
  • Willing to assist other Food & Beverage operations within the hotel and perform any other duties as necessary.
