Program Assistant I
Location: 100% Remote (Initial 2-3 weeks onsite training in San Diego, CA 92123)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PST
Pay Rate: $25 - $30/hour (DOE)
Duration: 1-year W2 contract (high potential to extend or convert to FTE)
bout the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Program Assistant I to support the Energy Savings Assistance Program. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy and compliance in invoice processing and program data management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is a primarily remote position; however, candidates must be available to attend 2-3 weeks of onsite training in San Diego, CA, with occasional in-person training sessions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control (QC) on incoming invoices from third-party vendors
  • Conduct intake, verification, and validation of invoice data and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accuracy of billing details, including matching numbers and applying correct program measures
  • Process ccount adjustments, including write-offs and reversals as needed
  • Support journal entries and general ledger (G/L) account reconciliation
  • ssist with billing analysis and additional program-related administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate and organized records in accordance with company standards
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience in a Program Assistant, Project Coordinator, or Program Support role
  • Strong experience with invoice processing, data validation, and administrative support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SAP preferred
  • Experience working within large corporate environments preferred (e.g., financial services, insurance, utilities)
  • Backgrounds in healthcare or construction are not preferred
