Lifesteps is hiring Day Program Aides to work at the Adult Training Facility in Eighty Four, PA.

Lifesteps is a local, non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by “helping individuals and families with life's changing needs”. The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Day Program Instructor - Part-time - Monday through Friday

NO EVENINGS, WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!

Lifesteps is expanding services in Washington County and has an immediate need for several Day Program Aides or Developmental Disability Aide in Eighty Four, PA.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Have fun while you work and bring joy into the lives of the adult program participants! The Program Aide/Instructor is responsible for assisting special needs adults with activities such as crafts, community outings and life skills.

Staff observe and report on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment and the day program aide transports participants when in the community using an Agency vehicle for learning, engagement and fun activities.

Part-time - Monday through Friday - 7:15 am to 2:00 pm Program Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current driver’s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifesteps
  • First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - provided by Lifesteps

Preferred:

  • One-year experience working with individuals in the human services field, like direct care, home health aide, personal attendant, TSS, etc.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Recreational Therapy, Health Education, Nutrition, or any other major
