Job description

Job Summary: Reporting to the Dean of the Divinity School (or designee), the Program Assistant for Nurturing Children and Youth will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and the development of the Nurturing Children and Youth project which is part of the Lilly Endowment funded Initiative.ย  The Program Assistant will work with the Associate Director of Nurturing Children and Youth to provide program support, including congregational engagement, student support, planning, writing, and organizing meetings, programs, and conferences.Essential Job Functions:ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide support for the administration of the Divinity School and the Black Church Revitalization Collaborative.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate program events, and activities related to the project and assist the Divinity School in activities related to recruitment, marketing, registration, and enrollment.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Carries out the goals, policies and activities designed to support the mission of Shaw University Divinity School (SUDS).ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist in coordinating meetings, programs, conferences, and forums with strategic partners, pastors, and congregations.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Organize virtual meetings and conferences.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure that policies and plans are being carried out.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Plans and implements training for education staff based on observation of areas of weakness.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assists in planning, selecting, and implementing project goals and objectives.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Attending regularly scheduled SUDS Staff meetings: reporting problem areas and possible solutions, program outlook, and accomplishments.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Works cooperatively with other staff members to keep abreast of overall program direction and to facilitate collaboration.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Other tasks as assigned.ย Minimum Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Associate or bachelorโ€™s Degree Preferred in relevant field of study.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  At least two yearsโ€™ experience facilitating church programs and or events.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  At least three years of Program planning/development experience.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Demonstrated ability to organize events, programs, and activities both in-person and virtually.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with social media engagement and digital communications.ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Computer literacy (Utilize operating system โ€“ MS Edge/Chrome, manage emails/calendars, navigate internet, MS Office Word/Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint).ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
