About Us

Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the McNair Scholars Program department on the Dahlonega campus. UNG's McNair Scholars Program seeks a motivated, dependable, and creative team member to assist in promoting The McNair Scholars Program across UNG's campuses. The FWS student chosen will assist in developing digital marketing materials and implementing assessment plan. The FWS student will assist with the creation of detailed and creative reports that will be used to disseminate date to the university community. The chosen applicant will have a dedicated computer station in outer office area and will also be responsible for greeting and directing students, faculty, and staff. The student will be tasked with clerical duties and will provide event support as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Student ambassador for Honors Program, McNair Scholars Program, and other Ascend Centers.
  • Construct flyers for publicity of events and application deadlines.
  • Assist with implementation of assessment plan, analyzing data, and the dissemination of data.
  • Assist with information and logistics for program events.
  • Support efforts of other Ascend Centers as needed and complete clerical duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must be creative, persistent, and a problem solver.
  • Must enjoy working with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design software (Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent) preferred.
