Job description

Program Assistant - Teen Center
We're looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic individuals to join our Recreation & Parks team at the Teen Center! The Teen Center is a drop-in afterschool program for middle and high school aged youth, Mondays-Thursdays, 2:00-6:00pm. Participants who visit can use the game room, gym, and fields to choose how they spend their afternoons. Program Assistants work directly with participants and with the leadership team to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment.
Responsibilities include supervising participants and part-time staff, planning and running games and activities, maintaining a safe program environment, helping with setup and cleanup, attending staff training, and working as part of a team to provide a high-quality recreation experience.
Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth or in a recreation or related setting.
  • Ability to plan and execute a wide variety of programs and activities and oversee specific program areas within the Teen Center
  • Enjoys working with children and participants of all ages.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Has or will obtain CPR/FA certification.
  • Has or will obtain valid MA driver's license

Compensation:
This position is Grade 2 of the Town's Part-Time Pay Plan with an hourly range of $18.00 to $19.10 based upon qualifications and experience.
