ABOUT ESCUELA DEL SOL & HARWOOD ART CENTER
For 55 years, Escuela del Sol Montessori has nurtured creativity, independence and academic excellence in pre-K through elementary aged children. Escuela's Harwood Art Center expands the school's philosophy to serve a broad audience of youth and adults with a variety of programs, including art workshops, artist studios, galleries and exhibitions, and community outreach projects, as well as apprenticeship, teaching and professional development opportunities. Escuela and Harwood are dedicated to building a love of lifelong learning, creative expression and positive impact on our community and our world.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Programs Assistant will work in close collaboration with Core Harwood Staff to assist a roster of public programs and offerings related to Arts Education, Engagement, Opportunity and Outreach.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• GALLERIES & PUBLIC HOURS: In cooperation with Core Harwood Staff, supports Harwood's Gallery Program by assisting with gallery hours, inventory, online listings, sales and gallery upkeep.
• ARTIST TRADING CARDS: In cooperation with Core Harwood Staff, leads Harwood's Artist Trading Card Program by maintaining and ordering supplies, communicating with participating artists, assembling and shipping blank packets, organizing and maintaining digital databases and physical packets, and assisting with the card swap and mailing of finished artworks.
• ARTS EDUCATION & OUTREACH: In cooperation with Core Harwood Staff, supports teaching artists, guides, and speakers for our youth and/or adult arts education and outreach programs; manages, orders, and organizes supplies related to these programs.
• MEMBERSHIP: In cooperation with Core Harwood Staff, supports Harwood's membership program by maintaining databases and assembling and mailing membership packets.

• Capacity to follow instructions carefully, carry out projects independently, and manage time efficiently, as well as to collaborate with and nurture others;
• Ability to interact and communicate with all of the members of our community in a friendly, courteous and articulate manner;
• Commitment to arts, engagement, community, citizenship, education and professional development in New Mexico;

A current driver's license or identification is required. A background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can be offered or started. The applicant must be available to work Saturdays 10am-3pm, the rest of their schedule will be agreed upon together, and consider the applicant's school schedule and Harwood's program schedule.
