WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an innovative, strategic, commercially minded and action-oriented leader with a passion for Sports and Entertainment to manage a high-profile sports sponsorship activation portfolio for a financial services client. In this role, serve as the senior day-to-day business lead, strategically leading client partnerships and executing IRL, virtual, and hybrid experiential programs across the brand's professional team sports and venues portfolio-including NFL, NBA and NHL properties. As an event activation guru with deep, multi-vertical sports experience, you will take an active role in driving major brand activations from brief to execution to create meaningful connections with consumers. Beyond delivering exceptional work, the ideal candidate will champion team spirit and foster a strong, collaborative culture.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)
Leadership
- Create a team environment that facilitates mutual respect and partnership across functions; quality thinking; appropriate risk taking; strong internal communications; and regular performance feedback
- Oversee the client's professional sports teams and venues portfolio and strategically guide utilization and optimization of all contractual assets
- Provide sponsorship/partnership expertise and lead the development and activation of strategic solutions (sponsorship activation, event marketing, offers/promotions, and appropriate media support) which build brand equity and deliver results for the client
- Guide cross-functional teams through the development and activation of complex client programs, from strategic briefs through ideation, production, and execution
- Build strong senior client and partner relationships and ability to influence and negotiate in a matrix structure
- Develop rapport with sponsorship partners and partner agencies, troubleshooting conflicts as they arise
- Support agency culture through leadership integrity, transparent communication and presence across the office
- Management and mentoring of all direct reports. Fostering an environment of mutual respect and partnership, strategic thinking, appropriate risk taking, open lines of communication, on-going performance feedback, professional development, and adherence to agency policy

- Deliver against annual revenue and margin targets
- Responsibility for attaining annual revenue and contribution margin targets
- Responsible for account or accounts collectively greater than 5mm in annual revenue

- Along with budget development and management, developing staffing plans to profitably support the business

Business Acumen & Client Service
- Develop strategic solutions (sports sponsorship activation, brand promotions, event marketing and appropriate media support) which build brand equity and deliver results for the client
- Provide category expertise and leadership in guiding internal teams across the agency to meet client goals, ensuring that brand strategy and objectives are met
- Understands the client business beyond the marketing aspect and anticipates client needs
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to conceive and execute innovative solutions across a variety of platforms that build brand equity and deliver results.
- Leading account service and cross discipline agency team in developing and delivering exceptional programs, flawlessly executed while meeting client needs
- Acting as an integral member of brand team within the agency, developing and managing client business while leading strategy development for assigned account
- Providing category and channel expertise and effectively educating other internal partners on best practice
- All other duties as assigned
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)
- 12-14+ years of agency experience, heavily weighted toward partnership marketing, client account management, and multi-disciplinary team leadership
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, memorable sponsorship activations (online/offline) for professional sports and entertainment properties, supported by strong, applicable industry relationships
- Demonstrated ability to connect business objectives to creative and experiential solutions while managing complex integrated programs, revenue targets, budgets, and staffing plans
- Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and client management skills, with extensive experience clients and partners at all levels
- Experienced in strategic thinking and ability to see, articulate and drive to the big picture
- Passionate and solution orientated approach to problem solving
- Confident presenter with outstanding verbal and written communication
- Leadership & Team Development: Passionate mentor with a track record of inspiring teams, fostering talent, and encouraging high-quality deliverables.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $180,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; location and region; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom's corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
