Job Description:

The Global Security & Safety department is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all ESPN human resources, guests and assets. In addition, the department provides security and safety services for all ESPN-owned and leased facilities and ESPN remote events worldwide.This position is based in Bristol, CT.

This position is based in Bristol, CT. It is a part-time role (24 hrs. per week) with working hours from 11 pm to 7:30 am. The schedule will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, screen, and direct all visitors in accordance with established procedures.

  • Enforce company security and parking policies consistently and fairly.

  • Monitor company property, identify and report safety and security hazards.

  • Secure property as directed.

  • Completes and issues hot work permits.

  • Conduct inspections by established hot work permit processes to preserve safety at ESPN facilities.

  • Conduct fire watch assignments in designated hot work areas.

  • Provide appropriate general information for visitors and employees.

  • Perform general security system checks.

  • Perform access control duties at high-traffic exterior posts in accordance with established procedures.

  • Perform vehicle and truck inspections in accordance with established inspection protocols.

  • May respond to medical, fire, security, and other safety-related emergencies and incidents as trained and write comprehensive reports following established procedures.

  • Might be asked to provide a security presence at special events on or off campus.

  • In some instances, you may be asked to establish barricades, operate gates, and generally direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

  • You may be asked to complete special assignments as required.

  • Accurately create work orders documenting requestors' names, locations, and the type of service needed.

  • Create work orders and dispatch maintenance personnel to the correct location for requested work.

  • Assist in the distribution and tracking of related departmental keys.

  • Monitor handheld radio channels for HVAC, Electrical, Maintenance, Construction, and Safety to facilitate communication between groups.

  • Receive and process all requests for facilities services via phone, email, and radio.

  • Monitor the main company's external phone line and direct incoming telephone calls as appropriate.

  • Perform MSA X-Ray screenings in the distribution center.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of security or law enforcement experience

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Driver's license

  • Must currently possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Guard certification

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen.

  • Must have the flexibility to work a varying schedule (hours and days off) and work overtime as approved.

  • Must have a basic familiarity with computers, including MS Outlook email, Word, Smartsheet, and Teams.

  • Must always maintain a professional presence in image and interactions.

  • Must obtain and retain MSA certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1year'swork experience in Facilities Management orasimilar field,handling service requests.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong writing ability and command of basic English grammar.

  • Strong leadership, judgment, and decision-making skills.

  • Highly adaptable with the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Ability to perform tasks independently within established guidelines.

  • Ability to operate company vehicles.

  • Able to take command and diplomatically control difficult situations

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Additional Information: This position does not have light-duty status.

The hiring range for this position in Connecticut is $22,140 to $29,580 per year based on a 24 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
