Job description

Cox Enterprises is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Professional Services (HR/Finance/Legal/Strategy) to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Role:
The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Professional Services (HR/Finance/Legal/Strategy) owns and executes category strategies and sourcing initiatives for the professional services and facilities categories at Cox Enterprises (CEI) while leading negotiations and driving competitive sourcing events. This role will deliver excellent client service and collaborate with both internal and portfolio company stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Management
  • Own, develop, implement, and maintain category strategies for professional services and facilities that deliver measurable value while maintaining robust controls.
  • Drive category performance and supplier strategy to optimize total cost of ownership and deliver tangible business impact.
  • Identify and recommend sourcing opportunities to enhance efficiency, value, and cost savings.
  • Provide input to the Director on enterprise-level category decisions and strategy alignment.

Supplier & Deal Management
  • Lead or participate in competitive sourcing events, RFPs, and supplier negotiations.
  • Independently negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service levels to optimize supplier agreements.
  • Lead ongoing supplier relationship strategy and governance, ensuring timely resolution of operational and performance concerns.
  • Accountable for supplier due diligence, risk oversight and performance analysis to ensure reliability, compliance, and value delivery.

Consultative Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, acting as a Sourcing SME, to internal stakeholders to deliver sourcing solutions aligned to organizational goals.
  • Turn complex sourcing challenges into clear recommendations that drive decisions, deliver value, and support business strategy.
  • Collaborate with portfolio company sourcing teams on joint sourcing initiatives or enterprise deals.
  • Use consultative approach to influence sourcing decisions and adoption of category strategies.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on sourcing processes and best practices.

Operational Excellence & Program Execution
  • Execute sourcing events and create purchase orders for sourced buys.
  • Lead coordination with boundary partners (Legal, Finance, Risk, etc.) owning end-to-end sourcing workflows, tools, and data to ensure smooth contract execution and compliance.
  • Drive and monitor sourcing results for assigned categories, focusing on value delivery, supplier performance, risk management, and adherence to sourcing policies.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal controls, reporting procedures, and process improvements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across sourcing activities, enhancing processes, stakeholder engagement, and supplier performance within assigned categories.
  • Drive adherence to sourcing standards by embedding governance, controls, and documentation into day-to-day execution, proactively identifying gaps and implementing improvements.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS and 8 years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management in indirect/professional services/technology spend. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' related experience; or 12 years' experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management in indirect/professional services/technology spend.
  • Expertise in supplier due diligence, negotiations, and category strategy development.
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration, consultative engagement, and client service orientation.
  • Experience managing sourcing events, RFPs, and purchase order creation.
  • Proven ability to operate with autonomy, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

USD 111,500.00 - 185,900.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
