THE WORK
The Manufacturing Engineering role is at the RMS Palm Beach site. The Palm Beach site is a small, dynamic, low volume, prototyping factory specializing in the manufacturing and test of Remotely Operated Undersea Vehicles, Manned Submersibles and Autonomous Undersea Vehicles. Successful candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment including but not limited to the following key areas:
Fabrication Support
• Supports the fabrication of complex electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies as the liaison between the manufacturing floor providing status to the MPM and holding technical discussions with Engineering.
Process Planning
• Establishes the sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product manufacture and performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Design Coordination
• Participates in drawing and procedure reviews and provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Quality & Discrepancy Management
• Dispositions discrepancies in coordination with Engineering and Quality to ensure product requirements are met.
Continuous Improvement
• Drives continuous improvement through Corrective Action Board and Performance Management Team participation as well as participation and leading various site functional projects and structured improvement activities.
Compliance
• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations as well as Lockheed Martin Command Media.

You are a proactive engineer with a strong continuous‑improvement mindset, skilled at interpreting BOMs, drawings, and wirelists, and experienced with MRP/MES systems and model‑based work instructions.
A level 2 employee is an early professional who typically has 1+ years of related experience.

Basic Qualifications:
1) Continuous Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment
2) Manufacturing experience and knowledge of electromechanical assemblies
3) Experience in a manufacturing environment including experience interpreting Engineering BOM's, Drawings/Models and Wirelists.

Desired Skills:
1) Experience in a manufacturing environment for Submersibles.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
