Job Summary

An IT Support Specialistprovides technical assistance and support to users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring equipment, and ensuring smooth IT operations.Responsibilities will also include supporting meeting spaces and supporting networking infrastructure. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: 

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. 
  • Identify the root cause of technical problems and implement solutions. 
  • Document issues and resolutions for future reference. 

Hardware and Software Management: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software. 
  • Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords. 
  • Manage and update software and operating systems. 

User Support: 

  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person. 
  • Answer user inquiries and address technical issues promptly. 
  • Train users on new technologies and software. 

Network Support: 

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues. 
  • Monitor network performance and identify potential problems. 
  • Assist with network infrastructure maintenance. 

Security: 

  • Ensure the security of computer systems and networks. 
  • Install and maintain security software and hardware. 
  • Assist with security audits and assessments. 

Support AV (Meeting Spaces)

  • Prepare and support meeting spaces
  • Test and confirm functionality of the meeting spaces prior to meetings occurring
  • Troubleshoot and implement fixes for hardware and Q-SYS in meeting spaces
  • Supporting AV & MTR systems in a contempary workplace

Support Networking Infrastructure

  • Basic network support for users
  • Assist networking team with add or changes to network 
  • Troubleshoot and implement fixes with support of the Networking team
Skills and Minimum Experience Required

5+ Years experience in helpdesk support 

1+ Year of providing AV Support in a fast-paced corporate executive environment, highly preferred

1+ Year experience supporting Networking preferred

Q-SYS Level 1 Required

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux)
  • Experience with Networking protocols and technologies
  • Knowledge of security principles and best practices

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer Service Orientation
Preferred Skills and Experience

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred

Certifications: 

  • CompTIA A+ Preferred
  • Other relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certifications, etc) preferred

The range for this position is $48,000  to $86,000 annually. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
