A Production Assistant (PA) is an entry-level crew member who supports the production team in a variety of ways on a film, television, or commercial set. Their responsibilities can include tasks such as setting up equipment, managing paperwork, running errands, coordinating talent and crew, and assisting with logistics on set. The job often requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. PAs are essential for keeping the production running smoothly and efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a productions assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Production Assistant, you need strong organizational abilities, multitasking skills, and a basic understanding of production processes, with a high school diploma or relevant experience often required. Familiarity with production scheduling software, call sheets, and basic office tools like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is important. Proactive communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work well under pressure are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure smooth day-to-day operations, effective team support, and the ability to adapt quickly to the fast-paced demands of production environments.

What are some common challenges faced by productions assistants, and how can they overcome them?

Production Assistants often encounter fast-paced, high-pressure environments where multitasking and adaptability are crucial. Job description

LEGIT PRODUCTIONS LLC
Texas Division — PIT Crew (Production Intake Team)
About the PIT Crew
The Production Intake Team (PIT Crew) is the creative and operational support team within Legit Productions LLC. PIT Crew members help transform opportunities generated by our Client Sourcing Agents (CSAs) and Division leadership into organized, professional production projects.
As Legit Productions continues expanding across multiple markets, the PIT Crew plays an important role in helping us maintain quality, organization, creativity, and professionalism as our project volume increases.
This is an opportunity for creatives and production-minded professionals who want to grow with an expanding media company and potentially take on greater responsibilities as the organization develops.
Core Responsibilities
Production Support

  • Assist with preparing projects for production.
  • Support pre-production planning and organization.
  • Help identify production needs, creative requirements, and potential challenges.
  • Assist production teams during shoots and projects when assigned.
  • Help maintain professional production standards.
Project Intake & Organization

  • Review project information submitted through the production intake process.
  • Help ensure client information and project requirements are complete.
  • Communicate production needs to the appropriate team members.
  • Help keep projects organized from intake through completion.
  • Identify missing information or potential production issues before they become problems.
Creative Support

  • Contribute creative ideas for promotional films, music videos, corporate projects, weddings, and other productions.
  • Assist with concepts, shot planning, locations, equipment, and production logistics.
  • Bring creative solutions when projects require flexibility or problem-solving.
Team Collaboration

  • Work alongside CSAs, CDCs, producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, and other creatives.
  • Maintain professional communication with team members.
  • Participate in company meetings, training, and production discussions.
  • Support other PIT Crew members when necessary.
⭐ Professional Standards

  • Represent Legit Productions LLC professionally.
  • Be dependable, punctual, communicative, and prepared.
  • Protect the company's reputation and production standards.
  • Maintain a team-first mentality.
  • Be willing to learn and develop new skills.
Growth Opportunity
Legit Productions LLC is building toward a scalable production organization with multiple divisions and a growing network of CSAs, CDCs, and creatives.
PIT Crew members who consistently demonstrate leadership, reliability, creativity, and initiative may have opportunities to take on greater production responsibilities as the company expands.
Our goal isn't simply to fill positions.
Our goal is to build people who can eventually lead them.

Who We're Looking For
We are looking for people who are:
  • Creative and production-minded
  • Reliable and accountable
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Willing to learn
  • Strong communicators
  • Problem-solvers
  • Professional and coachable
  • Interested in growing with an expanding company
Previous professional production experience is valuable, but mindset, work ethic, creativity, and willingness to learn matter just as much.
