Job description

The Rig Manager is responsible for coordinating the operational functions of all the Rigs in the Unit, with special emphasis on the drilling operations, towards effective and efficient performance of the Rigs. By leveraging its core competencies, particularly in drilling, engineering, automation, data science and manufacturing, Nabors aims to innovate the future of energy and enable the transition to a lower carbon world.Education: Some form of management training or formal educational experience is preferred. Professional Experience: Skills Technical: 5-7 years progressive experience in drilling operations is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred

Skills Communication: Bi-lingual is preferred (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese). Verbal communication skills necessary. Skills People: Ability to interact with individuals in a cross-cultural environment.

Leadership and employee development skills. Team oriented. Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, and Other Requirements: Offshore survival and medical certificates as mandated by government regulations are required.

Certified in all required safety training programs, including but not limited to underwater safety, firefighting, and helicopter underwater escape. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests. Demonstrates commitment to the Company safety policies by frequent discussions, review, consultations and audits made on the Unit Selects appropriate standards, specifications and safe working procedures including drills and incorporate those in the drilling operational procedures of his Unit; Monitors adherence to standards, specifications and procedures and review performance of department staff; Ensures that staff are provided with sufficient resources and training to achieve their safety objectives; Ensure that the personnel is properly trained and with valid certificates; Conducts monthly safety meetings with all Head of department staff; Ensures that incidents causing harm or damages to personnel, the environment or equipment are properly investigated using formalized, systematic procedures and that effective measures are taken to prevent any recurrence; Ensure that environmental standards are adhered to; Reports promptly to the line management, any violation of safety regulations by the personnel, even this such violation has not resulted in an accident; Investigate all LTAs with an immediate rig visit.

Either the General Manager or Operations Manager and the HSE Manager will accompany him on this visit. Continuously checks on operations through reports from the Unit; Determines effectiveness of general operations and initiate improvements where required; Develops and maintain cordial relations with operational level supervisors of customer representatives and joint venture partners; Directs operations personnel in maintaining work standards, policies and procedures of Company; Keeps informed of various governmental rules and regulations that affect rig operations and adhere to same; Responsible for reviewing monthly financial reports and explanation of variances for operations under his authority; Responsible for proposing to Operations Manager, issuing and controlling capital expenditures via the AFE system. Determines effectiveness of general operations and initiate improvements where required; Maintain cost control over the rig operations while maintaining company standards; Ensures that the preventive maintenance is properly followed and coordinates the repairs or the maintenance to minimize the down time in cooperation with the Marine Manager and the Maintenance Manager.

Ensures that the Unit is in compliance with ISM standards. Ensures that with the with the Marine Management that all certifications for the Unit are updated; Informs the client of the operations and of the problems encountered. Maintains with Client a good relationship.

Insure that the terms of the contract with the Client as respected as the best as possible. Analyses with the Rigs Superintendents the Unit penalties in order that to solve the pendants items that the client penalizes the Company. Prepares and attends to the quality meetings with the client.
