Location: 5 Glencoe Drive, Mount Pearl, NL, CAN

Shift : Sunday to Thursday, 4:00pm-12:30am

Full-time, permanent position that includes competitive base compensation with an additional shift premium for afternoon and night shifts only. Management incentive plan. Group insurance eligible upon hire. 4 weeks of vacation.

Job Summary

As an Operations Supervisor for the McKesson Distribution Centre, you will lead day-to-day operations with a focus on team performance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. You will support the leadership team in achieving safety, quality, and productivity goals while contributing to McKesson's Customer First commitment. This role is responsible for supervising all operational activities on the evening shift, while ensuring efficient handling of goods in compliance with GMP and SOP standards.

Specific Responsibilities
Drive Operational Excellence:

  • Consistently meet or exceed established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, cost efficiency.

  • Proactively monitor performance data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Monitor and support distribution centre activities including receiving, verification, storage, processing, and delivery of goods.

  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and cost efficiencies.

  • Assign responsibilities to team members to optimize productivity and operational flow.

  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and support development plans in alignment with department goals.

  • Demonstrate your commitment to employee engagement by deploying effective empowerment, feedback, coaching and development strategies for team members

  • Communicate operational updates and priorities to team members.

  • Support health and safety practices through regular monitoring, audits, and provision of necessary equipment and training.

  • Exercise effective employee and labor relations strategies to manage Employee concerns and performance related issues

  • Assist in workforce planning and training coordination under the guidance of senior leadership and HR.

  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by supporting Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.

Position Qualifications & Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Supervisor/Management role, preferably in a unionized environment

  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and operational execution.

  • Familiarity with labour relations in a unionized environment.

  • A strong understanding and experience in employee engagement practices.

  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma Principles and process improvement methodologies.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to take initiative and work with a sense of urgency.

  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Flexible schedule availability.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Behaviours aligned with McKesson Canada's ICARE & LEADRx principles and values.

  • Experience with Health & Safety legislation and adherence to regulations are considered an asset.

  • Experience leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools to improve decisionmaking, efficiency, or business outcomes.
