Job description

Summary/Objective

The Set-up and Repair position is responsible for preparing and troubleshooting dies in order to run production, which meets customer requirements. They are expected to maintain and care for the dies so that they are in proper clean and working condition.

Essential Functions

โ€ข Prepare jobs on press according to work order specifications.

โ€ข Assist in modification and creation of standardized work procedures.

โ€ข Utilize and understand all applicable subcomponents of the production order.

โ€ข Responsible for machine set up including ancillary equipment as related to the materials needed; verify type of metal and thickness.

โ€ข Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results; ensure

proper start up and shut down procedures for machines.

โ€ข Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.

โ€ข Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable machine processes.

โ€ข Check parts for proper tolerances, surface blemishes, dimensions, etc. and make adjustments to compensate for irregularities

โ€ข Inspect work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using micrometers, calipers, or other measuring instruments. Send production job to be inspected by Quality Control.

โ€ข Responsible for clear and consistent communication between departments

โ€ข Responsible for the continuous operation of production equipment.

โ€ข May aid in the training of employees in the positions of operator and set-up & repair

โ€ข Operates all machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
