Production Manager assists Plant Manager in directing production, distribution, and operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:
Principal Responsibilities:
• Implements manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, employee safety, environmental compliance, image, labor hours, cycle, production costs and capital improvements.
• Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
• Obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
• Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs and maintenance requirements.
• Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
• Assists with training and ensuring all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Develops employees to maximize their potential.
• Works with plant manager to establish budget, and reviews budget on ongoing basis.
• Participates and contributes to company safety program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
