Position Summary:

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of all production departments. The Assistant Production Manager will provide constant communication, feedback and recognition to team members and production leaders to enable a positive team member experience.

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Assistant Production Manager, under the direction of the Production Manager, will be responsible for the following duties/responsibilities:

o Ability to lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability working as a team

o Strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements to include HUD building codes

o Be safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st - must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelines

o Reviewing production performance and identifying training opportunities of production personnel as necessary

o Direct teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met

o Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and team member engagement

o Improve production processes for the purpose of improving overall quality, reducing lead-times, and lowering costs of operations by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc. applications where necessary

o Lead, guide and direct department leaders

Other duties as assigned Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum 2-3 years relevant management experience

Previous construction experience strongly preferred

Experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels

Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as basic math skills

Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively

Ability to read and understand home building specifications greatly desired

Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols

Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environment Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling

Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.

Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.

Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
