Job description

Machine Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring machines in a blown plastic film manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up and controlling the process to ensure that plastic films meet quality specifications and production schedules. The operator will be required to troubleshoot issues, maintain the equipment, and ensure efficient production while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Operate blown film extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic films as per production specifications.

· Set up extrusion machines by adjusting machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, and die settings according to the type of plastic material and film thickness required.

· Monitor materials loaded into the extruder hopper and ensure the proper mix of materials for each batch.

· Conduct periodic checks, including visual inspections and thickness measurements, to ensure product quality is maintained throughout production.

· Continuously monitor extrusion parameters (temperature, pressure, speed) and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent product quality .

· Collaborate with other team members, including other operators, quality control staff, and supervisors, to ensure the smooth operation of the production line.

· Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate the flow of materials and information.

ESSENTIALS JOB DUTIES:

· Monitor the extrusion process to ensure a consistent, uniform film is produced, maintaining the required quality and production speed.

· Manage the flow of materials to avoid blockages and ensure continuous operation of the extrusion process.

· Ensure that materials are properly stored covered and handled in a manner to prevent contamination or degradation.

· Identify defects in the film or process and take corrective action to minimize waste and downtime.

· Perform routine maintenance on extruders, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure optimal machine performance. Maintain proper water and oil levels in all equipment, checked daily.

· Communicate with maintenance staff or supervisors for more complex mechanical repairs or adjustments.

· Ensure safe operation of extrusion machinery by following all safety protocols and guidelines.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company and regulatory standards for safety and environmental compliance.

· Operate the equipment with proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the safety of all personnel in the production area.

· Follow all company procedures regarding waste disposal and chemical handling.

· Empty all granulator drums and extruder vacuums daily.

Duties

  • Handle materials safely within the warehouse or factory environment, including materials handling with forklifts when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, and packaging operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, machine settings, and quality checks.
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in tooling setup, fabrication processes,
  • Ability to use hand and operate Machines effectively .
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
