Job description

Overview
Individual will be responsible for the setup and operation of all equipment and machinery in the Conventional Department.
Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to: setting up and operating all machinery in the area and any other machine or tool needed to perform their job. Must have the ability to work from sketches and blueprints to accomplish their duties.
Machinist is responsible for verifying blueprint dimensions and specifications using a variety of measuring instruments.
Qualifications
A production machinist should be able to perform the duties above with little or no supervision, and produce quality parts at an acceptable production rate.
Machinists must be self-motivated and able to troubleshoot issues with little assistance from others.
Machinists must be able to function as a teacher, for training new operators, if needed.
Education:
A graduate of a Vocational School in Machining or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Production Machine operator in a precision Machine Shop or equivalent. Must have strong technical background in machining and be proficient in the use of gauges, measuring instruments, etc. Must be able to read blueprints easily, and be very capable in the use of math.
