Job description

POSITION: PolymerFilms Machine Operator

What youโ€™ll do:

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, production paperwork, materials, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances
  • Evaluate programs for machine equipment by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, and calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Process each order per customer specifications
  • Verify accuracy of parts by adhering to inspection process set by management
  • Maintain specifications by observing and taking measurements using tape measures and micrometers; detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements by following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, notifying warehouse lead, and/or calling for repairs
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting/communicating actions, irregularities, and needs
  • Maintain quality parts and processes by visually and dimensionally inspecting parts, production paperwork, with inspection reports completed upon receipt at each department
  • Adhere to basic housekeeping standards and safe operating procedures (OSHA, PPE, etc.)
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs
  • Has certification or willingness to become certified in operating a forklift
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Experience with maintaining machines a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and work instructions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • High level of honesty and integrity
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass a background investigation as part of the selection process
  • Must pass the drug test as part of the selection process
  • (Preferred) โ€“ High School Diploma or GED
