Job Summary:
Responsible for working cooperatively with system and regional Marketing staff to produce communications materials which effectively represent the health system. Provides design and art services, maintaining graphic standards of Geisinger.
Job Duties:
  • Conceptualizes, develops, and implements innovative and effective design solutions for printed materials.
  • Consults with customers to establish project direction.
  • Assesses possible design problems and provides alternative suggestions as needed.
  • Utilizes available technology to send customers electronic media to output equipment, reporting any problems to customer and supervisor.
  • Responds to customer's inquiries and provides technical advice and information about printing graphic files, communication tools, and manipulation of files.
  • Ensure graphic standards of system are met.
  • Makes recommendations for additions or changes to graphic standards as appropriate.
  • Provides proofs to ensure accuracy and quality of publications.
  • Uses graphic and computer skills to design and produce publications and other materials.
  • Creates or modifies art for use in printed materials.
  • Selects and scans photographs, applying computer-aided techniques as needed to ensure quality.
  • Produces camera-ready and plate-ready materials for delivery to printing resources.
  • Serves as technical resource person regarding design hardware and software.
  • Evaluates the need for new equipment and software as needed.
  • Tailors oral and written communications according to audience.
  • Communicates clearly to express thoughts and ideas.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of information coming into and being disseminated out of the department.

  • Required Experience: Four (4) year of related experience in print production, prepress, graphics, or similar field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, sorting, merging)
  • Experience or exposure to variable data software applications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
