Description:

SUMMARY: Liaison to material and part suppliers. Orders inbound materials and

product to ensure constant flow to production area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties assigned.

1. Create Purchase Orders using systematic inventory data to maintain inventory levels

while providing no interruptions to the production departments.

2. Ensures a steady flow of all materials to keep a manufacturing line operating, while

also maintaining adequate supplies without overbuying or wasting resources.

3. Excellent communication skills with supplier network.

4. Must be able to do their own research and inventorying of materials, as well as work

with colleagues in other departments.

5. Understands how to conduct and analyze root cause analysis and problem

resolution for all supply chain related issues.

6. Work with Logistics companies for on-time deliveries.

7. Interfaces within the operations team to ensure coordination of production.

8. Track, analyze and communicate key performance metrics to your manager.

9. Support and participate continuous improvement programs for Health, Safety and

Environmental.

10. Support and enforce 5S goals in area

Education and/or Experience:

The preferred background would include at least an Associate’s Degree in related field

with at least 3 years experience in the field. Experience in automotive is preferred.


Computer and Technology Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel and

Microsoft Word. Data base systems experience also preferred. Basic Knowledge of

MRP system.


Language Skills:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to

effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers,

clients, customers and the general public.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as: probability and statistical inference,

and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to

practical situations.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract

variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a

variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
