Job description

Job Objective:

To provide assistance in the oversight of the day-to-day floor operation of assigned departments. The position is responsible for providing guidance and direction to department employees to maximize productivity and efficiency while maintaining a safe and positive work environment. This position reports to Production Manager who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Support the Production Manager and Warehouse Supervisor in overseeing daily operations within assigned departments.
  • Set a positive example for team members through professionalism in attitude, attendance, attire, work ethic, and productivity.
  • Foster a positive work environment by maintaining good employee morale.
  • Adhere to the dress code and wear the designated identification provided by the company.
  • Monitor department employees to ensure they are completing their assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure that salvage items and donated goods are properly stored in the warehouse.
  • Move gaylord boxes as needed to maintain an organized workspace.
  • Load and unload semi-trucks efficiently and safely.
  • Keep all workstations stocked with necessary supplies to support continuous workflow.
  • Cover for vacant positions as needed to maintain productivity.
  • Accurately complete and submit daily production reports.
  • Learn and perform all responsibilities of the Production Assistant role as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Education and Skills:
  • Ability to become proficient in all department roles and train others to perform duties associated with them.
  • Effectively manage the pressure of meeting production quotas.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding the needs of individuals with disabilities and those facing economic challenges.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.
Qualifications:
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Flexible availability.
  • Able to frequently bend, twist, reach above shoulder level, push and pull, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely operate standard industrial production equipment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able obtain required certification to safely operate forklift, baler and compactor.
