Job Summary
Under the direction of the VP of Engineering, perform engineering duties required to analyze new and existing products in the areas of design, function, and manufacturability factors in order to standardize components and units by model, application, design, materials, dimensions, etc. Will determine/develop simplification of designs, interchangeable parts, simplify assembly, reduce inventories and lower costs. Maintain record systems, prints and other criteria relating to standardization procedures. Maintain liaison with product and manufacturing engineering to expedite standardization and specification changes. Support manufacturing with fixturing design and component replacement/enhancement for DFMA. Support a standardized DFMA, DFMEA and PFMEA process for NPI and VA/VE development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Determine the acceptability of product change requests from manufacturing.
  • Cost potential new product changes.
  • Assist manufacturing with continuing product support.
  • Update and maintain existing drawings.
  • Determine cost reductions and/or simplification of existing product lines.
  • Respond to field problems including investigating, evaluating, testing and corrective action.
  • Perform DFMA, DFMEA and PFMEA procedures for NPI and VA/VE development efforts
  • Support Sustaining and NPD design engineers for revision control, BOM maintenance and drawing modifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Minimum 5 years Electro Mechanical Design/Manufacturing engineering/project experience
  • Must be familiar with solid modeling.
  • Must be able to communicate vertically and laterally, verbally and in writing, both internal and external to the Company.
