Reports to: Supervisor, Production & Facilities


Role: This position analyzes production performance and executes production optimization activities for AEC-operated producing oil and gas wells. Job responsibilities will be performed with a moderate level of guidance and mentorship. This role will be responsible for managing company goals as they relate to his/her area of responsibility. The role focuses on applying standard engineering procedures, optimizing wells’ performance, and contributing to team and cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong EH&S focus and increasing technical independence over time. This position will be in AEC’s Denver office and will report to the Production & Facilities Supervisor.


Responsibilities:

- Perform production surveillance and analyze wells’ performance compared to forecast

- Coordinate with field staff to ensure accurate production data entry

- Contribute to asset management planning and optimization initiatives

- Plan and execute routine workovers with oversight and guidance from Production Team

- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot artificial lift systems, including but not limited to gas lift, plunger assisted gas lift, rod pump, and ESP

- Support surface facility troubleshooting and optimization

- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for review

- Develop cost estimates and perform standard economic analyses

- Execute assigned improvement initiatives impacting team performance

- Track and manage capital and LOE expenses for assigned projects

- Participate in PSSRs, PHAs and HAZOP reviews

- Support asset liability and plug and abandonment planning

- Interface with regulatory staff, service companies, and partners

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

- 3-5 years of related industry experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering is required


Skills:

- Ability to work independently on standard assignments

- Strong sense of curiosity and a self-motivated learner

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Effective communication across teams

- Ability to work in and travel to AEC asset areas; ~25% field time

The starting rate for this position is expected to be between $131,000 to $155,000, based on experience, qualifications, and internal pay alignment. Final compensation may vary from this range depending on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s education, skills, prior experience, and evolving market conditions. This range represents Anschutz Exploration's good-faith estimate of the pay for this role at the time of posting.
