The Bernard Group is looking for a Production Manager to join our Machine Room team. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world class products to our customers. This role is responsible for managing, mentoring and coaching Supervisors, Leads and employees working in the Machine Room production area. This role will ensure work is monitored and controlled in order to meet TBG’s quality standards and the clients’ schedule expectations. The Production Manager, with the help of the Production Supervisors, trains and provides expertise to new and existing employees on the most efficient and effective methods of machine operations and new equipment. The Production Manager is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the team members which includes: managing variable costs such as direct labor and materials utilized, as well as reducing scrap and the need for re-work. The Production Manager identifies the need for additional resources, human capital or machinery, and creates the cost/benefit analysis. This position has responsibility for performance reviews, staff development, employee engagement, and addressing any necessary disciplinary actions as required.

Shifts available: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

In this position, you will:

  • motivate, mentor, coach and train employees for professional development, employee engagement, and the creation of a safe and inclusive environment
  • set high performance expectations, audits those expectations and provide feedback, both positive and constructive to ensure those expectations are met
  • work closely with Production Supervisors, as well as other production area leadership, in prioritizing and directing department work flow
  • support safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables
  • audit quality processes (through Positive Interruptions) for accuracy and consistency to ensure processes are being followed and we are WOWing our clients
  • ensure assembly integrity through continuous monitoring of departmental processes in conjunction with the Production Lead
  • maintain high quality standards
  • oversee the maintenance of appropriate levels of supplies to meet production requirements
  • monitor issues and receipts for work orders in conjunction with the Production Supervisors
  • establish open lines of communication with the production floor
  • represent corporate policy and communicate to employees as required
  • ensure training and skills matrix are in compliance with training policy
  • work toward continuous improvement
  • implement and execute new hire training and provide learning opportunities to enhance continuous improvement with existing employees
  • handle necessary ADP and EPACE functions
  • monitor efficiency and productivity and implement improvements
  • drive improvements in material flow, including cell design and material delivery Interact with other support departments as required
  • provide the cost/benefit analysis for the acquisition of new equipment
  • troubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • perform duties in other areas of the Fabrication department, as needed
