Job description

The Launch Manager at Detroit Complex MACK Assembly is responsible for leading all plant launch activities to ensure successful program execution using Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) principles and the Workplace Integration Process (WIP). This role provides end-to-end ownership of launch readiness by aligning Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering functions to deliver programs safely, on time, and within budget.
The Launch Manager serves as the central integrator across the plant, driving execution, resolving issues, and leading both salaried and represented teams through high-pressure launch conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all launch activities for Detroit Complex MACK, ensuring plant readiness for SOP
  • Drive execution using SIS standards and WIP cross-functional alignment
  • Deliver program milestones on time and within budget
  • Coordinate Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to achieve launch targets
  • Lead launch war rooms and drive closure of critical issues and risks
  • Ensure process validation, quality readiness, and workforce preparedness
  • Communicate launch status, risks, and recovery plans to plant and executive leadership
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability across all levels of the organization
  • Coach and develop team members while fostering a high-performance, results-driven culture
  • Build strong working relationships with plant leadership, workforce, and key stakeholders

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Background in Quality and Engineering Management
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes, and automation
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface effectively from hourly represented employees to senior leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capability
  • Experience with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing (SPW)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to lead under pressure
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and executive reporting
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies
