Glastender, Inc., a family-owned manufacturer of stainless steel bar and restaurant equipment, is seeking an experienced Product Engineering Supervisor to join our leadership team. What You'll Do
As Product Engineering Supervisor, you will lead the Product Engineering Department by providing both technical direction and people leadership. You'll oversee the development of new products and continuous improvement of existing product lines while ensuring projects meet objectives for quality, manufacturability, cost, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Materials, and other departments, you'll help transform ideas into products that strengthen Glastender's reputation for quality and innovation. Just as importantly, you'll coach, mentor, and develop engineers and technicians, helping them grow professionally while building a highly engaged and accountable team.

Through our Process-Based Leadership system and Open Book Management philosophy, you'll help employees understand how their work contributes to our success while supporting strategic initiatives that strengthen both our products and our people.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop Product Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Sales Technicians through mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
  • Direct the design, development, testing, and implementation of new products and improvements to existing product lines.
  • Manage engineering projects, priorities, and resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet quality, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Promote engineering solutions that improve manufacturability, reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, Sales, and other departments to resolve technical challenges and improve business processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles, 5S, and data-driven decision making.
  • Develop onboarding, cross-training, and succession plans that strengthen the long-term capabilities of the engineering team.
  • Participate as a member of the management team, supporting company-wide strategic planning and organizational success.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
Experience: Minimum of seven years designing fabricated equipment in a manufacturing environment. Prior supervisory experience or formal supervisory training required. Five or more years leading engineering teams preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop technical professionals while building an engaged, accountable team.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience designing fabricated products for manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience leading engineering projects from concept through production.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including UL, NSF, DOE, EPA, and related industry standards.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
