Job Objective:

The Product Quality Engineer will be responsible for the management of internal quality metrics, support interaction manufacturing team to resolve issues, and perform manufacturing quality assessments. This position will work closely with our QA team on incoming inspections, FAI s, and nonconforming material handling to drive continuous improvement with our supply chain. Responsible for working as part of the Quality team to maintain our compliance to ISO9001:2015/AS9100/AS1300 and internal company Standard Operating Procedures. 


Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in root cause analysis on failures
  • Track internal responses to deliverable milestones, evaluate customer response, provide feedback to customers, and ensure closure of Corrective Actions.
  • Collect, organizes, monitors, and distributes information related to product quality and process improvement functions
  • Ensure that procedures and work instructions are documented according to corporate and ISO standards
  • Evaluating programs to support PFMEA and Control plan to confirm that key characteristics and in process controls are well defined and effective
  • Advocate for assuring products is designed for manufacturing
  • Clear definition of product quality requirements
  • Identification of key dimensional characteristics for FAI approval
  • Provide recommendations for specification(s) revision as determined by data
  • Improve and engage in the First Article Inspection process (FAI) to support product revisions and new product launch
  • Perform and report internal manufacturing audits
  • Develop continuous improvement plans to drive improved PPM scores
  • Provide quality performance input to support the GSP quality performance scorecard
  • Review and submit deviation requests to customers


Requirements

  • Maintains positive relationships with various departments in multiple facilities.
  • Maintains superior customer service to both our internal and external customers. 

Required Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred or relative experience in manufacturing or aerospace mechanical engineering field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Quality Engineering role, with at least 3 years in the Aerospace/Aviation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods, tools and quality manufacturing processes
  • Math skills
