Description

Kalan is a third-generation, family-owned consumer products company that has been bringing fun, on-trend items to market for over 50 years, supplying retailers like Five Below, Spencer's, and gift and souvenir stores around the country. Based just outside Philadelphia, our mission is simple: make people smile!

We offer a relaxed, flexible work environment with a come-as-you-are dress policy, hybrid schedules (3 days per week onsite), summer Fridays, and a strong focus on work/life balance. Come join us and be part of a company that enjoys the work as much as the results.

About the Role

As a Product Development Associate, you'll be in the middle of everything, helping turn ideas into real products on shelves. You will work closely with our Director of Product Development to keep projects moving from concept to production.

If you like staying organized, juggling multiple projects, and being part of a fast-moving, creative environment, this is a great place to start your career.

What You'll Do

  • Help bring new products to life across licensed and non-licensed lines
  • Keep timelines, product data, and project updates organized and on track
  • Coordinate artwork, packaging files, and revisions with internal teams and vendors
  • Track samples, approvals, and changes from early concepts through final production
  • Gather vendor quotes and help monitor pricing and cost changes
  • Support day-to-day communication with vendors on samples, specs, and updates
  • Spot potential delays and help keep projects moving
  • Jump into product reviews, trend research, and brainstorming sessions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Product Development, Merchandising, Design, Business, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant work/intern experience in product development, sourcing, project coordination, or similar
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in Microsoft Excel; experience with Monday.com or similar tools is a plus
  • Interest in consumer products, novelty items, and trend-driven merchandise
