Job Summary
We are seeking a Experienced Product Development & Sourcing Manager to support our business across apparel product development, sourcing, vendor management, costing, sampling, production tracking, and cross-border coordination.

This role is best suited for someone with hands-on apparel industry experience in sourcing, merchandising, production follow-up, vendor management, garment manufacturing, apparel trading, or cross-border supply chain operations. The ideal candidate understands the full product lifecycle, from sourcing and sampling to costing, bulk production, delivery, and market launch.

This position requires strong communication skills in both English and Chinese, solid cost awareness, strong vendor management experience, and the ability to work closely with U.S.-based teams and China-based suppliers.


Job Description:

  • Support product development for Orolay’s U.S. market, from style selection, quotation, sampling, revisions, confirmation, bulk production, and delivery.
  • Source, evaluate, maintain, and expand apparel suppliers, factories, fabric/trim vendors, and external sourcing partners.
  • Communicate U.S. market needs, sales feedback, product requirements, and pricing targets to China-based suppliers and internal teams.
  • Follow up on supplier quotations, sample development, costing, production timelines, quality feedback, and shipment schedules.
  • Evaluate product feasibility based on style, fabric, fit, function, workmanship, cost, target price, margin, and sales channel.
  • Assist with cost analysis, price negotiation, order quantity planning, replenishment needs, and inventory risk assessment.
  • Coordinate with U.S. sales, operations, marketing, China supply chain teams, suppliers, and factories to ensure smooth product execution.
  • Resolve issues during product development and production, including sample revisions, cost changes, delivery delays, quality concerns, and production exceptions.
  • Help improve workflows for supplier communication, sample approval, order tracking, and delivery management.
  • Support cross-time-zone communication between the U.S. and China teams, including early morning or evening meetings when needed.
  • Work in the United States for approximately half of each year, primarily from the Manhattan, New York office.
  • Travel as needed for supplier meetings, customer visits, market research, product development, and business coordination.


Qualifications:

  • 6–8 years of experience in apparel sourcing, product development, merchandising, production follow-up, supplier management, or related fields.
  • Solid knowledge of fabrics, trims, workmanship, quality standards, production timelines, and supplier coordination.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Existing supplier, factory, fabric, trim, or product resources preferred.
  • Fluent in both English and Chinese.
  • Must hold valid U.S. visa status or required travel/work authorization.
  • Willing to travel between China and the U.S. for business needs.
