Job description


Overview:

The Product Development Engineer – Level 1 supports the design and development of hydraulic fluid power products, with a primary focus on hydraulic actuators. This entry-level role emphasizes learning industry standards, design processes, and internal systems while contributing to new product development and sustaining existing product lines.


Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the design of new hydraulic actuator products using 3D CAD software

2. Create and update 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation

3. Support maintenance of existing product lines, including minor design updates and revisions

4. Create, review, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system

5. Assist with engineering change requests

6. Collaborate with sales and senior engineers to support customer quotations and technical questions

7. Participate in customer-related issue resolution, including basic root cause investigations and returned product evaluations

8. Manage small to medium size engineering projects including scope, schedule, training and open issues lists

9. Assists level 2 and Senior Engineers on test lab projects

10. Learn and apply applicable industry standards, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements

11. Travel as necessary (<10%)


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, related field or equivalent experience

• 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience (internships/co-ops acceptable)

• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)

• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
