Job description

Glen Raven is recruiting for a Product Change 2 position, which is responsible under the direction of the shift leader for planning and performing product changes throughout yarn manufacturing as well as assist as an operator in all areas when necessary. This job position will train under the supervision of the Product Change Technician II and Shift Leaders to obtain the skills necessary to fulfill the requirements of a Product Change II position.

This is a 12-hour shift (7pm - 7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule.

**includes $1.00 Shift Differential**

 Responsibilities:

  • Follow company policies, safe work practices and procedures, prevent injury to yourself and other associates.
  • Report any unsafe work condition, any work related injury or near miss injury to your shift leader or management immediately.
  • Safely, efficiently and effectively carry out deep cleaning of all areas.
  • Use proper LOTO procedures
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned to effectively to prevent contamination
  • Work at a steady pace to meet the current goals for down time to clean and strive to get the equipment back up and running as quickly as possible
  • Properly open, remove and replace guards and doors.
  • Perform housekeeping and organization duties as necessary
  • Maintain organization of tools and equipment in their designated areas.
  • Transport fiber and yarn waste to the baler.
  • Bag and label good fiber and transport to warehouse for reuse.
  • Sweep floors and help maintain cleanliness in all areas.
  • Assist in starting machines after product change cleaning and machine set-ups are complete.
  • Operate waste baler and other balers as needed.
  • Assist with running the card room when necessary
  • Assist with running spinning and winding when necessary.
  • Assist with production in all other areas when necessary.
  • Perform to the best of your ability duties not directly associated with your job as required provided that it is not in violation of company policy, unethical, unsafe or unlawful.

Experience and Education:

  • Previous experience in a textile manufacture preferred
  • High School Diploma Preferred
