Job description

Eaton's Global Distributed IT organization is currently seeking a Lead Product Application Engineer to join our team in Woodridge, IL. This position is part of a dynamic data center white space marketing team and serves as a technical expert for the application of in-rack power products. This will be a hybrid role (3 days in office / 2 days home).

This role is responsible for marketing, product, and application support in assigned product categories. You will also define and service immediate customer requirements, identify opportunities for new product development, and promote existing products to drive profitable product line growth. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year.

What you'll do: Customer Relationships Sales Growth: Proactively own assigned product categories in collaboration with sales team to drive growth and establish priorities.

Application Support: Perform specification/application reviews and coordinate proposals for larger more complex quotations. Customer Relationships: Work with Eaton's field sales team to cultivate customer relationships and specify appropriate products, solutions, and innovation ideas. Meet with customers to demonstrate product features, discuss needs, sales opportunities, and product issues.

Customer Support: Support analysis and resolution of customer complaints. Complex Problem Solving: Handles more complex technical issues and provides advanced solutions. Product Management Industry Expertise: Collect voice of customer (VOC), develop product requirements, and prepare/present business cases for highly strategic projects.

Marketing Promotions: Coordinate promotional material, sales tools, and programs. Training and Development: Conduct sales force training advanced product applications and drive development of additional training materials. Marketing New Products: Serve as marketing representative in new product project teams for highly strategic projects.

Lead Marketing Projects: Lead marketing projects such as marketing studies, competitive studies, and customer loyalty programs. Strategic Marketing Advanced Technical Expertise: Monitor industry trends, application trends, competitive products, and new technology developments to become technical expert on in-rack power products and markets. Innovation: Identify and analyze opportunities for product innovation.

Strategy Development: Participate in developing long term strategies and marketing material for business reviews. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the marketing team. This role could be the next step in your career if you demonstrate the following experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing, engineering, sales, or product support.

Ability to travel up to 25% You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Master's degree in Business Administration or Marketing Two (2) or more years of experience working with data center power distribution systems. Strong knowledge of product development methodologies, including stage-gate or similar processes. Proficiency in enterprise tools, including SAP, Enovia, Office 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI), and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
