We're looking for a Product Application Specialist to join our Application Engineering Team in Brampton, ON. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and engineering support for Victaulic products and system solutions within the mining and oil & gas industries. You will work closely with customers, sales teams, engineers, and industry stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges, troubleshoot applications, provide training, and support business growth across Canada and beyond.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with customers, and becoming a subject matter expert in industrial piping systems and applications.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN

  • Develop expertise in Victaulic products, including couplings, valves, fittings, catalog components, and system solutions.
  • Provide engineering consulting support to sales teams by evaluating and recommending Victaulic solutions for mining and oil & gas applications.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers, owners, engineers, contractors, code officials, and installers.
  • Utilize knowledge of industrial mining systems and/or oil & gas systems to address customer challenges and technical inquiries.
  • Apply industry standards and codes including ASME, AWWA, CSA, ASTM, API, CRNs, and other applicable requirements.
  • Support the selection, application, and troubleshooting of valve actuation systems, including pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for mining and oil & gas applications such as:
    • Paste backfill systems
    • Mine dewatering
    • Tailings and mine waste handling
    • Underground water systems
    • Large-diameter pipeline construction
    • Oil sands extraction processes
  • Provide technical support through phone, email, virtual meetings, customer visits, and field investigations.
  • Conduct on-site product troubleshooting, inspections, and root-cause investigations.
  • Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on findings.
  • Evaluate returned products and generate customer-facing reports detailing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Product Management, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to identify product improvements and customer opportunities.
  • Deliver presentations, training sessions, and educational seminars to employees, sales teams, distributors, engineers, and customers.
  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, competitive products, and emerging customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance technical training, product education, and customer support programs.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems and applications.
  • Experience working with industrial mining and/or oil & gas systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards including ASME, AWWA, CSA, ASTM, API, and CRNs.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting customers through phone, email, virtual collaboration platforms, and onsite visits.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across global cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 30% domestically, with occasional international travel.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 annually, based on experience.
