Zarpac is a leading global provider of packaging line engineering, integration, and productivity solutions. We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Oakville.

This role is ideal for a design-focused engineer who enjoys developing complete electrical systems and seeing their designs come to life in complex, automated packaging environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of complete electrical design packages, including BOMs, schematics, layouts, and assembly drawings
  • Own the end-to-end electrical design for machine and/or full packaging lines, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and internal standards
  • Review and validate design documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Interpret customer requirements, functional specifications, and vendor documentation
  • Design and coordinate power distribution systems, including MCCs and PDPs
  • Develop electrical layouts and system architecture for automated packaging lines
  • Provide technical guidance during build, testing, and commissioning phases
  • Collaborate and/or participate with controls teams to support PLC/HMI integration as needed
  • Contribute to design improvements, standardization, and innovation initiatives
  • Select components with a focus on performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a strong design focus
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in industrial equipment, packaging, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong expertise in electrical system design and low-voltage power distribution (up to 600V)
  • Experience developing schematics, panel layouts, and system architecture
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent design tools)
  • Understanding of industrial networks and system integration
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley/Siemens)
  • Experience with FactoryTalk, Wonderware, or similar platforms is an asset
  • Exposure to robotics, servo systems, and VFDs is an asset
  • P.Eng. designation is an asset
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills
  • Knowledge of North American electrical standards

Compensation

The base salary for this role is $105,000 - $130,000 CAD.

Travel Requirement

Approximately 20-25% travel, primarily to customer sites in the U.S. Occasional international travel may be required.
