Directly impacts the company's produce department operations policies and procedures by developing and revising policies and procedures when necessary. Evaluates competitors and consults with vendors and customers to be efficient in category management while offering suggestions to the Produce Director. Examines products bought for resale or received for storage.
Plans store visits and works directly with store management to provide technical assistance to the store managers in the company as follows: Oversee and ensure proper protocol is followed in the Produce Department; Direct, coordinate, & evaluate the Produce Department operations; Recruit, interview, and train produce department managers and Assist with preparation of the produce department managers' job performance review. Assist the produce department manager with planning, assigning, and directing work.
