The team you will be a part of
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates to join our Global Strategic Sourcing, as a Buyer ,Senior Analyst, Procurement over Global Strategic Sourcing within the Direct Procurement organization. The role is located in Benton Harbor, MI. The Sr. Buyer will complement Whirlpool's NAR GSS strategy by delivering on cost, quality, and delivery goals for the company. The role will optimize +$100M annual spend for the NAR Region, while playing a critical role in delivering engineering projects, dual sourcing strategies and on time sourcing for the Global Tier 2 Electronics category.
This role in summary
The Sr. Buyer is responsible and accountable to lead category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and contracting aligned to Whirlpool's Policies and KPI's. The role is highly cross functional and requires the ability to lead the right outcomes for Business Functions, Global Strategic Sourcing, and Whirlpool Corporation. This leader will support/lead National, Regional, and Global initiatives to deliver company imperatives.
Your responsibilities will include
  • Development and implementation of a global sourcing strategy for semiconductor commodities.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key semiconductor suppliers (e.g.,NXP, ST, Infineon, Renesas)
  • Lead commercial negotiations and capacity securing strategies
  • Monitor market dynamics (AI-driven demand, capacity shifts, geopolitical impacts)
  • Analysis of spend categories and market conditions for appropriate application of sourcing strategies
  • Identify and convert cost reduction opportunities based on solid understanding of costs drivers and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and building global relationships
  • Ensure compliance with all sourcing processes, following GSS procedures including but not limited to Sourcing Plan, Sourcing Selection, Sourcing Committee. Ensure Supply base compliance from a contractual, ethical, quality, financial risk standpoint.
  • Coordinate all the involved functions to ensure product launch at the right cost, quality and time for a defined set of suppliers.
  • Monitor allocation and coverage

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, IT Sourcing, IT or Manufacturing

Preferred skills and experiences
  • Engineering as well as home appliances background
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Good at data analysis and structural thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and ambiguous global environment supporting multiple time zones
  • Strong ownership and collaboration skills on an international level
  • 5+ years sourcing experience in a multinational environment
  • Sourcing experience from a multinational company
  • Experience in dealing with complex and cross-functional organizations with Engineering, Marketing, etc.
  • Motivated to work in a global environment, high flexibility to adapt to different cultures, fast learner
  • Self-motivated, strong autonomy and result-oriented person with minimal supervision and great potential to grow within the organization
  • Ability to quickly build strong relationships with internal process partners and suppliers
